Abu Dhabi, 27 May 2020 - The CMS Dugong MOU Secretariat most regretfully shares the sad news that Fiona Bartlett, the Dugong MOU Focal Point for Australia, passed away on Friday 22 May 2020.

Fiona will be remembered as a strong and dedicated Focal Point representing Australia’s priorities and the global needs regarding the conservation of dugongs and seagrasses at Signatory State Meetings and other events over the years. Through Fiona’s efforts, Australia generously provided in-kind co-finance support to the GEF Dugong and Seagrass Conservation Project.

The Dugong MOU family will miss Fiona’s valuable contributions and wish her family, friends and colleagues all the very best.
