United States National Plan of Action for the Conservation and Management of Sharks

This U.S. National Plan of Action for the Conservation and Management of Sharks (NPOA) has been developed to ensure the sustainability of shark fisheries. Overfishing of sharks can occur rapidly with extended periods (often decades) required to rebuild, and the depletion of traditionally higher-value species can also lead to increased directed fishing on sharks.
